Hugh Carty qualified as a solicitor in 1975, and the following year established Kent Carty Solicitors with his brother John. He is currently Managing Partner and specalises in Company Law, Litigation, Insurance, Professional and Medical Negligence, Defamation, Personal Injury and Mediation.
He received a BCL in 1968 from UCD and qualified as a barrister in 1970. He worked in Marketing and administration in industry between 1970 and 1972
Hugh is also a CEDR Accredited Mediator.

John Carty is co-founder of the Kent Carty Solicitors with his brother Hugh in 1976. He practices in a number of disciplines, but specialises in the following areas: Company Law, Commercial Leases and Property, Defamation, Employment, Judicial Review, Planning, Litigation, Product Liability, Professional and Medical Negligence, Mortgaging & Re-mortgaging.
John attended UCD, received a BCL in 1971 and qualified as a Solicitor in 1972.
John is a CEDR Accredited Mediator.

Gavan Carty is the Commercial Partner in Kent Carty Solicitors.
His areas of expertise include: Commercial Property, Insurance Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
He has been involved in several high profile cases in relation to Constitutional Law Issues and Commercial and Insurance Law.
He joined the Firm in 1991 and became a Partner in 1999. He has worked in a legal practice in France and with the European Commission in Brussels.
Gavan is a law graduate of Trinity College Dublin and qualified as a Solicitor in 1994.
He holds a Diploma in Arbitration from UCD and is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Gavan is a CEDR Accredited Mediator.

Jim O'Higgins is a Consultant to the Firm with expertise in many different areas, now practicing primarily in the areas of Conveyancing, Land Law, Probate, Estate Planning and Family Law.
Jim joined Kent Carty in 2003.
He received a BCL degree from UCD and holds an LLB Degree and a Diploma in European Law. Jim qualified as a Solicitor in 1967.
He is also a CEDR Accredited Mediator.

Emmet Carty is a Solicitor specialising in Divorce and Separation Law, Landlord and Tenant Law, Personal Injury, Bullying, Stress, Harassment and Employment Law.
Emmet joined the Firm in 2004, having practiced as a barrister for 7 years.
He graduated from UCD with a degree in Politics and History in 1992. He was called to the Bar in July 1997 having graduated from the Kings Inns with the degree of Barrister at Law.
He successfully completed a diploma in European Human Rights law in UCD in 2003.
Emmet is an accredited CEDR Mediator, and a recognised leader in the promotion of Mediation as a non adversarial dispute resolution mechanism. In addition, he is a qualified collaborative lawyer.

Killian Carty is a Solicitor with Kent Carty specialising in Wills and Probate, Conveyancing, Debt Collection/Recovery, Mortgages, Litigation including Personal Injury and Material Damage, Citizenship and Naturalisation and Residential Tenancies.
Killian joined the Firm in 2002 and after successfully completing his traineeship qualified as a Solicitor in 2006.
